The very funny Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key imagine an alternative reality where teachers are drafted and celebrated with the same fanfare as professional athletes. It’s based on K-12, but post-secondary educators should get a chuckle out of this one too. There’s even play-by-play of a real classroom interaction; the suspense builds as the teacher calls on Max, a student that looks engaged in the discussion but does not have his hand up. We see that her instinct is spot on as Max effortlessly shares the correct answer. Key points out, “See what she did y’all? She’s bringing an introvert into the discussion. That’s teacher of the year play right there.” Peele adds that the pro move will “enhance his performance throughout the rest of the year.” Anyone up for starting a fantasy league?
